AYT: Abraham menerima tanda sunat sebagai meterai kebenaran iman sebelum ia bersunat supaya ia dapat menjadi bapa bagi semua orang yang percaya tak bersunat sehingga kebenaran itu juga diperhitungkan kepada mereka;

Bengali: তিনি ত্বকছেদ চিহ্ন পেয়েছিলেন; এটি ছিল সেই বিশ্বাসের ধার্মিকতার মুদ্রাঙ্ক, যখন অচ্ছিন্নত্বক অবস্থায় ছিল তখনও তাঁর এই বিশ্বাস ছিল; কারণটা ছিল যে, যেন অচ্ছিন্নত্বক অবস্থায় যারা বিশ্বাস করে, তিনি তাদের সবার পিতা হন, যেন তাদের জন্য সেই ধার্মিকতা গণ্য হয়;

NETBible: And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, so that he would become the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

NASB: and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,

HCSB: And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.

LEB: And he received the sign of circumcision [as] a seal of the righteousness by faith which [he had] _while uncircumcised_ , so that he could be the father of all who believe _although they are uncircumcised_ , so that righteousness could be credited to them also,

NIV: And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.

ESV: He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,

NRSV: He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the ancestor of all who believe without being circumcised and who thus have righteousness reckoned to them,

REB: he received circumcision later as the sign and hallmark of that righteousness which faith had given him while he was still uncircumcised. It follows that he is the father of all who have faith when uncircumcised, and so have righteousness “counted” to them;

NKJV: And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also,

KJV: And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which [he had yet] being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

NLT: The circumcision ceremony was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous––even before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith but have not been circumcised. They are made right with God by faith.

GNB: He was circumcised later, and his circumcision was a sign to show that because of his faith God had accepted him as righteous before he had been circumcised. And so Abraham is the spiritual father of all who believe in God and are accepted as righteous by him, even though they are not circumcised.

ERV: Abraham was circumcised later to show that God accepted him. His circumcision was proof that he was right with God through faith before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all those who believe but are not circumcised. They believe and are accepted as people who are right with God.

EVD: Abraham was circumcised later to show that God accepted him. His circumcision was proof that he was right with God through faith before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all people that believe but are not circumcised. Those people believe and are accepted like people that are right with God.

BBE: And he was given the sign of circumcision as a witness of the faith which he had before he underwent circumcision: so that he might be the father of all those who have faith, though they have not circumcision, and so that righteousness might be put to their account;

MSG: That means that he underwent circumcision as evidence and confirmation of what God had done long before to bring him into this acceptable standing with himself, an act of God he had embraced with his whole life.

Phillips NT: It was [afterwards] that the sign of circumcision was given to him, as a seal upon that righteousness which God was accounting to him [as yet an uncircumcised man!] God's purpose here was that Abraham might be the spiritual father of all who that time, despite their uncircumcision, show the faith that is counted as righteousness,

CEV: Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised.

CEVUK: Abraham let himself be circumcised to show that he had been accepted because of his faith even before he was circumcised. This makes Abraham the father of all who are acceptable to God because of their faith, even though they are not circumcised.

GWV: Abraham’s faith was regarded as God’s approval while he was still uncircumcised. The mark of circumcision is the seal of that approval. Therefore, he is the father of every believer who is not circumcised, and their faith, too, is regarded as God’s approval of them.

NET [draft] ITL: And <2532> he received <2983> the sign <4592> of circumcision <4061> as a seal <4973> of the righteousness <1343> that he had by faith <4102> while he was still uncircumcised <203>, so that he <846> would become <1510> the <3588> father <3962> of all <3956> those who believe <4100> but have never been circumcised <203>, that they too could have righteousness <1343> credited <3049> to them <846>.
