 <<  2 Corinthians 1 : 9 >>

Odiya: ହଁ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହୋଇଅଛୁ ବୋଲି ନିଜ ନିଜ ମନରେ ବୋଧ ପାଇଥିଲୁ, ଯେପରି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର ନ ଦେଇ ବରଂ ଯେଉଁ ଈଶ୍ୱର ମୃତମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଠାନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରୁ;

NETBible: Indeed we felt as if the sentence of death had been passed against us, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.

NASB: indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;

HCSB: However, we personally had a death sentence within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.

LEB: But [we] ourselves had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we would not be putting confidence in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

NIV: Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

ESV: Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

NRSV: Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death so that we would rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

REB: Indeed, we felt in our hearts that we had received a death sentence. This was meant to teach us to place reliance not on ourselves, but on God who raises the dead.

MSG: We felt like we'd been sent to death row, that it was all over for us. As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally--not a bad idea since he's the God who raises the dead!

Phillips NT: Yet we believe now that we had this sense of impending disaster so that we might learn to trust, not in ourselves, but in God who can raise the dead.

CEV: In fact, we felt sure that we were going to die. But this made us stop trusting in ourselves and start trusting God, who raises the dead to life.

CEVUK: In fact, we felt sure that we were going to die. But this made us stop trusting in ourselves and start trusting God, who raises the dead to life.
