1PRAISE the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his loyal servants!
2Let Israel rejoice in their maker; let the people of Zion exult in their king.
3Let them praise his name in the dance, and sing to him psalms with tambourine and lyre.
4For the LORD accepts the service of his people; he crowns the lowly with victory.
5Let his loyal servants exult in triumph; let them shout for joy as they prostrate themselves.
6Let the high praises of God be on their lips and a two-edged sword in their hand
7to wreak vengeance on the nations and punishment on the heathen,
8binding their kings with chains, putting their nobles in irons,
9carrying out the judgement decreed against them -- this is glory for all his loyal servants. Praise the LORD.
