[VER] : [ASSAMESE]     [PL]  [PB]
 <<  Romans 3 : 4 >>

NETBible: Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written: “so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.”

NASB: May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED."

HCSB: Absolutely not! God must be true, but everyone is a liar, as it is written: That You may be justified in Your words and triumph when You judge.

LEB: May it never be! But let God be true but every human being a liar, just as it is written, "In order that you may be justified in your words, and may prevail when you are judged."

NIV: Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."

ESV: By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged."

NRSV: By no means! Although everyone is a liar, let God be proved true, as it is written, "So that you may be justified in your words, and prevail in your judging."

REB: Certainly not! God must be true though all men be proved liars; for we read in scripture, “When you speak you will be vindicated; when you are accused, you will win the case.”

NKJV: Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged."

KJV: God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

NLT: Of course not! Though everyone else in the world is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say, "He will be proved right in what he says, and he will win his case in court."

GNB: Certainly not! God must be true, even though all human beings are liars. As the scripture says, “You must be shown to be right when you speak; you must win your case when you are being tried.”

ERV: No, even if everyone else is a liar, God will always do what he says. As the Scriptures say about him, “You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win when people accuse you.”

EVD: No! God will continue to be true even when every person is false. Like the Scriptures say: “You will be proved right in your words, and you will win when you are being judged.” Psalm 51:4

BBE: In no way: but let God be true, though every man is seen to be untrue; as it is said in the Writings, That your words may be seen to be true, and you may be seen to be right when you are judged.

MSG: Not on your life! Depend on it: God keeps his word even when the whole world is lying through its teeth. Scripture says the same: Your words stand fast and true; Rejection doesn't faze you.

Phillips NT: Of course not! God must be true, even if every living man be proved a liar. Remember the scripture? That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

CEV: No, indeed! God tells the truth, even if everyone else is a liar. The Scriptures say about God, "Your words will be proven true, and in court you will win your case."

CEVUK: No, indeed! God tells the truth, even if everyone else is a liar. The Scriptures say about God, “Your words will be proved true, and in court you will win your case.”

GWV: That would be unthinkable! God is honest, and everyone else is a liar, as Scripture says, "So you hand down justice when you speak, and you win your case in court."

NET [draft] ITL: Absolutely not <3361>! Let God <2316> be proven true <227>, and <1161> every <3956> human being <444> shown up as a liar <5583>, just as <2509> it is written <1125>: “so that <3704> you will be justified <1344> in <1722> your <4675> words <3056> and <2532> will prevail <3528> when you <4571> are judged <2919>.”
